If you have been in the QNET business for some time, you know that just because you do not have a boss in the traditional sense, or have a fancy office building to go to every day doesn’t mean that the bar isn’t set high for how you represent yourself.
Direct selling and network marketing is heavily dependent on perception. Perceptions are formed by brief impressions, as well as long-term associations, and eventually, these perceptions shape your credibility. As a network marketing professional, it’s extremely important to think about how you represent yourself.
Your credibility is a reflection of how much people trust and interact with who you are and what you are telling them. Being credible is perhaps the most significant aspect of being successful in this business. When is the last time you bought something from or spent time with someone you don’t trust?
Success in your QNET business starts with your credibility. Today, we are sharing with you three pieces of advice from veterans in this business that will help you establish your professional credibility.
1. Be Professional
As an independent representative of QNET, you are promoting products that will make a different in the health, wellness, and lifestyle of the people around you. You don’t need expensive clothes or flashy jewelry to show people this, but you DO need to be aware that people believe what they see.
- Be a product of the product. Use the products and show people the difference it has made in your life.
- Dress neatly and look professional. You don’t need to wear a suit and a tie, but you need to be wearing clean, good quality clothes and subtle accessories.
- Use good body language. What do your gestures, posture, and appearance say about you? Use your appearance as a way to communicate who you are and what you stand for.
2. Be Honest
It’s OK if you don’t know everything. People know the difference between someone who knows their stuff and someone who is faking it. Instead of pretending to know more than you do, commit to finding the answers to questions you are unsure about. Do the research to understand things you struggle with. In the end, know how to find answers, and teach your team to do the same. The result will be a team that can duplicate AND appeal to regular people who may be intimidated by a genius.
3. Work Hard
Most top leaders who come from a corporate background will tell you that being your own boss is way harder than having a boss. You have to be willing to hold yourself to the highest standard. Your job is to tell people, “I will do everything I can to help you,” and then follow through. If you committed to doing something, make sure you do it. You have to make things happen, even when it’s hard, even when you have a million other things going on. Follow-through builds credibility.
When people see that you come through for them no matter what, and when they see that you’re willing to share a part of who you are as well as the knowledge you have, you become credible. When you are credible, people buy in; not just to your product, they buy into who you are and what you stand for.
And that’s how you begin to build a successful business.
