QNet India signs up Arunima Sinha as brand ambassador

QNET is proud to sponsor Arunima Sinha, first female amputee in the world to have scaled the Mt. Everest, who is now all set for her Dec 2018-Jan 2019 mission to scale Mt. Vinson in Antarctica. The latter feat is expected to credit her with yet another distinction of being the only female amputee to climb seven summits*, QNET is thrilled to be a part of her mission, which is an epitome of self-confidence and focussed goals.

Arunima will be associated with QNet India as its brand ambassador over a period of one year, starting with her Antarctica expedition. Expeditions like these can be expensive and finance can be a constraint when it comes to para-sports in India. For Arunima, the association with QNet takes a step closer to her dream “I am very happy to get a sponsor like QNET and be given the opportunity to participate in such an expedition,” she said.

Arunima is an extraordinary mountaineer and a true hero. This former national-level volleyball player pencilled her name in record books when she became the world’s first woman amputee to scale Mount Everest in 2013.

In 2011, Arunima lost her left leg in a tragic train accident. But she refused to allow the incident to stop her from fulfilling her dreams. Through sheer grit and determination, she decided to scale impossible heights and has emerged victorious. In 2015, she received the Padma Shri award and recently she was awarded an honorary doctorate for her achievements in mountaineering from the University of Strathclyde, UK.

For her Antarctica mission, India’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi recently handed her the tri-colour flag to unfurl at the top of Mt Vinson. “India is proud of Arunima’s accomplishments and her fortitude inspires us all,” he tweeted.

*In the past, Arunima summited Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro in May 2014, Russia’s Mount Elbrus in July 2014, Australia’s Mount Kosciuszko in April 2015 and Argentina’s Mount Aconcagua in December 2015.
