Watch connoisseurs are very particular about the timepieces they own. To those with a discerning taste, a watch is not just a functional accessory. It’s a statement piece. Each new timepiece in a connoisseur’s collection is marked by distinct features and is a masterpiece in its own right.
If you are just starting out with your watch collection with QNET, here are some things you can proudly tell your friends and prospects about the Bernhard H. Mayer® watch collection available exclusively to QNET customers.
Swiss Made
If you are new to the world of luxury timepieces, just look for the word ‘Swiss Made’ stamped on the dial or caseback. According to the Swiss law that regulates the use of the term ‘Swiss Made’ watches, only watches that have been assembled, adjusted and subjected to official tests in Switzerland, and have at least 50% of the components of the movement manufactured in Switzerland, can use this label.

All Bernhard H. Mayer® watches are Swiss made in accordance with Swiss standards of quality and assurance. Skilled master craftsmen schooled in a tradition of excellence individually handcraft these timepieces.
High-Quality Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is an extraordinarily tough material and is usually resistant to corrosion. Some watches in the market claim to have a ‘stainless steel back’, but in fact refer only to the caseback. In the Bernhard H. Mayer® watches, the entire case is made of high-grade surgical stainless steel (316L), which is used frequently in the pharmaceutical industry and for surgical implants.
Exclusive Dial
Watches in the Bernhard H. Mayer® collection come to life in the expert hands of master watchmakers. Behind their individual methods is a common commitment to achieving the highest standard of workmanship through constant refinement. The dials of the Bernhard H. Mayer® watches go through a sophisticated handcrafting process that results in their unique design. Instead of just a simple printed dial, most Bernhard H. Mayer® watches display certain distinctive design elements such as multi-level stamped dial, manually polished faceted or printed with three-dimension effect indices.
Sapphire Crystal Glass with Antireflective Coating
A watch crystal is a transparent cover that protects the watch. This can be made of any of three materials: plexiglass (a clear, lightweight type of plastic), ordinary glass or mineral glass, or synthetic sapphire. Synthetic sapphire is the most expensive glass crystal material and the most scratch resistant. It is a very hard, transparent material made from crystallizing aluminum oxide at very high temperatures. Chemically, synthetic sapphire is the same as the natural sapphire used in jewelry, but without the coloring agents that give the gemstone its various hues. Watch crystals made of synthetic sapphire are often marked “scratch resistant”, meaning they are very difficult to scratch.
The antireflective coating on sapphire crystal makes it easier to read the watch face as it does not reflect any light.
Decorative Details
Some exceptional watches blur the line between mechanics and art. Each Bernhard H. Mayer® watch represents an exceptional example of horological art. The fluting on the crown band is a distinct but discreet decorative detail that contributes to the overall look of the watch. Gems and precious metals are chosen and crafted into the watch based on guidelines set by premier jewellery institutions.
Fine metal bracelet
A metal bracelet can also influence watch function and appearance. Metals used for watch bracelets can range from inexpensive base metals to precious metals. Low grade watches in the market use low quality, thin folded metal parts with scratched uneven brushing that store dust and degrade the watch. Bernhard H. Mayer® watches use one-piece solid stainless steel bracelets with scratch-resistant polishing and regular brushed finishing.
