Mercury levels are steadily rising, and with the hot weather come the countless summer skin woes! While sunlight triggers the synthesis of vitamin D within the body, which is good for you, too much sun exposure can cause a number of skin ailments such as sunburn, pigmentation, premature aging, wrinkling, and skin cancer.
Summers are notorious for ruining our skin! It’s time to revamp your routine to get beautiful and glowing summer skin.
1- Sunscreen
Apply sunscreen approximately 30 minutes before being in the sun so that it can be absorbed by the skin and is less likely to wash off when you perspire. Carry a tube with you and remember to reapply every few hours if you are spending time outdoors.
2- Hydrate
Unless you want your skin to look dull, dry and tired, skipping on the water intake is not an option. Your body tends to lose a lot of water due to the heat and needs to be constantly replenished. Your intake should not just be limited to sipping on bottled water. Eat and drink foods with high water content. Add pieces of melon and berries to your evening snack and opt for a fresh juice instead of your 11 am cup of tea. Also, carry around a bottle in your bag and keep sipping on it throughout the day.
3- Cold Showers
Switch off that water heater or geyser when you need a bath. Take a cold shower or bathe with cool water, and you will instantly feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Cooler water helps keep your pores open and helps decrease acne breakouts. Wash your face with cold water instead of using wet wipes, during the day.
4- Skincare
After a long day out in the summer sun, your skincare routine is very important. Use the Physio Radiance Replenish Pack products to give your skin the complete care it needs – Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturise.
5- Exercise
Physical activity not only improves your circulation, which in turn promotes a healthy glow, it also helps loosen the grime in your pores. Think of your fitness routine as your beauty routine.
