The light is perfect, the background stunning, and quality flawless — do you keep wondering how your friends are taking better Instagram images than you with just their phones? Well, it’s elementary, my dear Watson.
As a QNET India distributor, your Instagram feed should have stunning images that would make your followers crave for more. If you haven’t yet unlocked how to do that, we are here to help you out.
On World Photography Day, we at QNET India bring you a few simple hacks to take Instagram worthy images and create a good first impression on your customers and friends.
Don’t waste that natural light
Good lighting equals to great pictures. If you don’t want your images to look artificial, always try to take them in the natural light. One of the thumb rules of taking good quality images with your phone is not using the flash and instead of going for natural lights. This doesn’t necessarily mean you need to go outdoors, you can utilise doors, windows or even roofs as natural light sources. All you need is a bit of creative thinking.
Find that fascinating backdrop
The background can make or break your image. Vibrant colours, charming patterns, or a creative eye-catching background adds depth to your images and make them stand out. If you want to grab your audience’s attention get creative and find visually appealing spaces and keep experimenting.
Open new doors with new angles
When it comes to taking images do you always hold your phone at an eye-level? If yes, next time try to take pictures from different and unique places. E.g. place the camera on top of the product or at your waist level and see the difference. Try to use your eyes before you use the lens because even the smallest difference can change the entire outlook of your picture.
Don’t miss the Golden Hour
The hour when the sun sets in the west is known as the golden hour for photographers. Every photograph clicked looks stunning and effortlessly beautiful at this time of the day making it the perfect time to take pictures. This doesn’t mean you only take pictures during the golden hour, but try to take a few during this time of the day to awe your audience.
Do some basic editing
Every smartphone today has basic editing software, so before you upload it just adjust the brightness, contrast, and saturation levels and you will see the difference it can make. Play around with the combination and find out the different effects. With more practice, you can also try your hand at more advanced editing options.
If you want to get better in Instagram photography, be consistent and practice, practice, practice. Take candids, boomerangs, make collages or try different filters but most importantly keep trying something new.
