Onam

Onam, Kerala’s biggest festival, is celebrated by people from all communities, castes, classes, and religions. Its secular vibe makes it very popular, and the government organises a tourism week to welcome the large numbers of people coming in from all over. The celebrations go on for ten days and feature musicians, dancers, floral arrangements, handloom fairs, and of course, the iconic snake boat races. These races are held near Alleppey so head on down there to catch all the boating action. While you’re enjoying yourselves in God’s own country, don’t forget to try out Sadhya, a traditional Onam feast featuring a nine-course meal. It’s both drool-worthy and Insta-worthy.

5th Bangalore Business Literature Festival

The Bangalore Business Literature Festival (BBLF) was started to celebrate the writing culture in the Indian business field. A large panel of speakers, including writers, publishers, and business leaders from various sectors are carefully picked by a team of noted authors and editors. It’s a great learning experience for aspiring entrepreneurs, MBA students, writers, book lovers, and bloggers. The panel has lively discussions and Q&A sessions on a variety of topics. The BBLF also organises a networking lunch during the event, perfect for making new contacts. And, who knows? Maybe you’d even find yourself bitten by the writing bug afterwards.

Ziro Festival of Music

This music festival is in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. Picture this – four days of music from some of the coolest indie artists India has to offer! Don’t let the remote setting fool you when it comes to food. There are plenty of cuisines to savour, from local tribal delicacies all the way to burgers and sandwiches. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you could even try some local wines and rice beer. That’s not all. You and your team can have a great outdoors experience by camping out in the beautiful green valley.

Rajasthan International Folk Festival

Date – 10 October to 14 October

Category – Music festival, Arts, Culture

The Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF) is endorsed by UNESCO as a People’s Platform for Creativity and Sustainable Development. It’s held at the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur and features musical performances by national and international folk artists. The highlight of this festival has to be fusion music. Artists from drastically different cultures and musical backgrounds come together to create some mind-blowing music.
